In addition to Salem’s daycare, a variety of after school clubs and programs have been established to meet the need for additional enrichment beyond the school day. Classes are updated on a regular basis to meet the demand and the interests of the families served. Feedback from parents, staff, and students is ongoing and helps to make solid decisions about which after school programs are chosen.

Salem offers a variety of extra-curricular activities that provide students with enrichment, intellectual development, service opportunities, creative expression, tutoring, athletics and recreation.

An active student council group encourages students to participate in student government and provides opportunities to develop leadership skills.

Salem Lutheran School offers a well-rounded summer program that balances the needs of working parents with the enrichment and adventure that students appreciate during the summer. The program is open to students enrolled in the school and church members on record. Our summer program includes daycare from 8:00 am – 5:30 pm.

Salem’s summer program fuses fun with creative projects and a wide range of activities all based on a theme for the week, experiences that benefit the student. There is a weekly water fun day and a weekly short walk for ice cream. Children are often grouped by age for activities to promote lasting friendships.

Our school daycare staff continue to operate the summer program so they are familiar faces on campus. We often include Vacation Bible School for a week which is run by Lutheran camp counselors from LRCC along with our daycare staff helping. There is also a week or two when our school P.E. teacher holds a Sports Clinic consisting of basketball or soccer for an additional fee.
