History
Salem Lutheran School was established by Salem Lutheran Church in 1948 as a ministry of the congregation to the community. It is directed by a School Board selected from members of the congregation. The school is an active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association
Curriculum
Salem Lutheran School offers a sound basic education from a Christian perspective. All subjects are prescribed by the State board of Education. Sixth grade graduates are prepared for seventh grade with confidence and a solid educational foundation.
Class Size
Class size is limited to 21 students in grade Junior Kindergarten, 24 students in Kindergarten and 26 in grades first through sixth.
Junior Kindergarten
Junior Kindergarten is a progam designed for students who demonstrate maturity, intellectual curiosity, readiness and eagerness for a fuller academic program. We focus on the growth of the whole child and the teacher acts as a guide for the children as they learn about themselves, their peers, and their environment.
Parent/Teacher Organization
Salem Lutheran School has a Parent/Teacher Organization, which offers parents and teachers the opportunity to participate in school service projects, fellowship, entertainment and fundraising.
